~ 1939 Dated Combined Operations Commandos Helmet ~
The helmet, finished in olive drab, retains its original chinstrap and liner and has the black and red commandos insignia.
The canvas chin strap is named to C. Chambers.
The inside of the helmet is stamped “J.S.S. +S 1939”. J.S.S. refers to the manufacturer for Joseph Sankey & Sons.
~ Condition ~
The helmet is in very good order. The liner is complete though worn. There is some minor surface rust to the skull.
~ Dimensions ~
The helmet is 31 cm (12 inches) long by 29 cm (11.25 inches) wide by 14 cm (5.5 inches) tall.
