~ 1942 WW2 Winston Churchill Cigar With Provenance ~
One of Winston Churchill’s cigar, given by him to Clare Sheridan, the sculptor whilst working on his bronze, which was cast in 1942. The bronze, by the way is on display at Museum Room at Chartwell, the family home of Sir Winston Churchill, at Westerham, Kent.
Churchill had a difficult relationship with his artist cousin who famously sympathised with the Russian Revolution.
She went on to complete busts of Lenin and other notable figures in his cabinet, and was a close friend of Charlie Chaplin
It is presented in a modern glazed frame with two gilt inset panels, one holding the cigar, the other with its provenance.
For your information, a cigar dropped by Winston Churchill at the London Coliseum in 1953 and then picked up and kept by an usherette has sold for £4,800 in 2019.
~ Condition ~
The cigar is half smoked by Churchill. It is in otherwise good order. The case is in decent condition.

The case is 23 cm (9 inches) wide, 19 cm (7.5 inches) tall and 2.5 cm (1 inches) deep.
The cigar is 9 cm (3.5 inches) in length.
