~ 9ct Yellow Gold Avia Wristwatch circa 1958 ~
A stylish 9ct gold wristwatch by the Swiss manufacturer Avia dating to the 1950’s.
The watch case and case back are of 9ct gold with a full hallmark to the case back and a partial hallmark to one of the lugs.
The watch has a cream dial with both Arabic numerals and markers in gold tone and has three gold tone hands.
The dial is named ‘Avia 15 Jewels, Shock Protected’ and also reads ‘Swiss Made’.
The case back is hallmarked for 9ct gold, Birmingham, 1958 with a makers initials of ‘ALD’.
The case back has serial numbers of ‘12870’ and ‘902173’ and is marked ‘Dennison, Made in England’.
The watch has a 15 jewels movement with an AS 1538 1539 calibre marked ‘Swiss Made’.
The watch comes on a gold plated stainless steel, elasticated bracelet.

The dial has a diameter of 29mm while the watch measures 32mm across the bezel (33mm including crown.
The bracelet has an inner circumference of approximately 17cm (6 ¾ inches).
The watch weighs 47.2g.

The dial is clean and in lovely order.
The case is in good condition with only a few minor marks and a small ding to the back.
The bracelet has some loss of plating in parts but is mostly in good order.
