~ Gibari ~
Ginbari (sometimes called foil cloisonné or pigeon blood enamel) is a unique Japanese enameling technique. Unlike traditional cloisonné, ginbari involves applying textured silver foil (the "gin") onto the metal base of an object, pressing detailed patterns into the foil, and then coating it with translucent, colored enamels.
