A scarce and highly desirable Austrian Glock 17 Generation 2 semi-automatic pistol retaining its matching numbered factory threaded barrel, supplied complete with a detachable sound moderator and original Glock 17-round magazine.

The left side of the slide is crisply roll marked "GLOCK 17 AUSTRIA 9x19" together with serial number NL14866, which is repeated on the barrel. The polymer frame is moulded "MADE IN AUSTRIA GLOCK Ges.m.b.H." and retains the early patent markings associated with second-generation production. The pistol exhibits all of the classic Generation 2 characteristics, including the rail-free dust cover, the absence of finger grooves and the distinctive chequered front and rear grip straps introduced to improve handling over the original Generation 1 design.

A particularly desirable feature is the factory threaded barrel, fitted with the accompanying cylindrical sound moderator. Factory-threaded Glock barrels from this period are encountered far less frequently than examples subsequently fitted with aftermarket barrels, making this an especially attractive special-purpose configuration. The moderator screws securely onto the barrel, while the original front sight remains fully visible above its profile.

The pistol is accompanied by an original Glock 17-round magazine bearing Glock logos to both the body and floorplate. It is additionally marked "RESTRICTED IN U.S.A. – POST. 9.13.94", identifying it as a magazine manufactured during the period of the United States Federal Assault Weapons Ban (1994–2004). While produced after the pistol itself, it is an entirely correct period Glock magazine and a desirable accessory in its own right, reflecting an important chapter in Glock's export history and modern firearms legislation.

The barrel is stamped "9x19 NPv LDR" beneath the chamber, while the right side of the slide bears a matching Austrian Federal Eagle NPv proof stamp. These marks denote proof-testing at the Vienna Proof House using smokeless powder (Nitro-Pulver). The LDR proof code on the chamber block corresponds to December 1990, placing proof of the barrel squarely within the correct production period for an early Generation 2 Glock. Together with the matching serial numbers, these markings support the originality of the pistol.

Approximate Measurements: Barrel length: 4.5 inches (11.4 cm). Overall length: 18.7 cm. Overall length with silencer fitted: 35 cm. Calibre: 9×19mm Parabellum

History Note:
Introduced in 1982, the Glock 17 revolutionised military and police handgun design through its innovative polymer frame, striker-fired action and exceptional reliability. Its combination of simplicity, high magazine capacity and low weight rapidly established it as one of the world's most influential service pistols, leading to widespread adoption by military, police and specialist security units across the globe.

The Second Generation, produced from approximately 1988 until the late 1990s, refined the original design by introducing chequered front and rear grip straps while retaining the clean, rail-free frame and finger groove-free grip profile favoured by many collectors today. Factory-threaded examples intended for suppressor use are encountered considerably less frequently than pistols later fitted with aftermarket threaded barrels, making surviving examples especially desirable. Combined with its detachable sound moderator and period Glock magazine, this example represents an attractive special-purpose variant from Glock's formative years.

*Condition*
Presented in very good overall condition with light honest handling wear throughout. The slide retains its original matte black Tennifer finish with minor edge wear and light surface marks consistent with careful use and storage. The polymer frame remains free from cracks, repairs or significant damage, retaining its crisp moulded texture, sharp manufacturer's markings and original Generation 2 configuration. The matching threaded barrel remains clean with well-preserved threads, and the supplied sound moderator screws securely into place. The accompanying magazine shows only light wear with clear factory markings throughout. The trigger moves, the slide can be retracted partially but does not cock or dry-fire, and the magazine remains fully removable. The detachable sound moderator also unscrews from the threaded barrel for display. The deactivation work has been neatly executed, with the required welds and London Proof House EU proof marks clearly visible. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.

Deactivation:
Deactivated to current EU specification by the London Proof House on 30 September 2021. Accompanied by its original London Proof House Deactivation Certificate, Certificate No. 9834 (Invoice No. 44649). The certificate records the firearm as a Glock Model 17 automatic pistol, calibre 9mm, barrel length 4.5 inches, serial number NL14866, country of origin Austria. Deactivated in accordance with Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/337.
