Description

*Belgian, dated February 1953, 83mm “ROCK PRAC” Practice Rocket for RL-83 Blindicide, Inert Display Round*

A very attractive and highly displayable original 83mm practice rocket, marked “ROCK PRAC 83 m/m A 2-53”, produced as a training round for the Belgian RL-83 Blindicide anti-tank rocket launcher. This example is completely inert and suitable for display, with its distinctive green body, black nose cone, yellow stencilling and alloy/brass-toned finned base section.

Approx. Measurements – Overall height: 57 cm. Base diameter: 7.3 cm.

History Note:
The stencilling identifies it as a practice 83mm rocket, with “ROCK PRAC” denoting rocket practice, “83 m/m” confirming the calibre, “A” likely indicating lot or series, and “2-53” most plausibly denoting February 1953 manufacture. The form corresponds to ammunition associated with the RL-83 Blindicide, a Belgian post-war anti-tank rocket launcher developed by Mecar and influenced by the American M20 “Super Bazooka” concept.

The rocket has a black conical nose, black securing band with visible screw heads, green painted body and hollow motor section with base venting. The rear section shows the finned base assembly and internal circular plate, consistent with a fired, stripped or drill/practice display example.

*Condition*
Condition is good and very displayable overall, with clear yellow stencilling, general paint wear, small chips, scuffs, surface scratches and age-related marks throughout. The base shows oxidation and wear, particularly around the internal plate and vent holes. Completely inert, with no explosive content. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
