Depicting rifle, shovel and pick with wreath at center. Kings Crown at top of badge and scroll at the bottom with motto ‘Labour Omnia Vincit’ meanng ‘Work conquers all’.
The Labour Corps was a British Army force formed in 1917 for manual and skilled labour on the Western Front and Salonika during the First World War. (In September 1939, a number of infantry and cavalry reservists were formed into Works Labour Companies. These, in October 1939 became the Auxiliary Military Pioneer Corps (AMPC), On 22 November 1940 the name was changed from the AMPC to the Pioneer Corps and was amalgamated into the Royal Logistic Corps in 1993.)
