Offered here is a large and heavy bronze ‘bell metal’ bell, etched on the top of the bell is GR after George VI. Stamped on the very top of the bell are AM (for Air Ministry) and the year 1942. Bells like this are always associated with the glamour of the war time Royal Air Force, they were used as Station Bells, on the Guard House, and as fire bells.
Overall the Scramble Bell is in good condition. The royal cypher is still clear and visible. On the bell itself, there is a visible cosmetic crack and a few other marks. Please see the images for more detail.
