The treadplate reads ‘Sheraton’ in a boxed border which is surrounded by a cross hatch border.
The treadplate has four mounting holes.

The footplate is in a good condition for its age and use with no real damage. The footplate may have a slight bow to its shape but is relatively flat to the untrained eye.
~ HMS Sheraton ~
HMS Sheraton (pennant number M1181) was a British Royal Navy Ton-class minesweeper. She was launched 20th July 1955 and commissioned 1956. The Ton-class were coastal minesweepers built in the 1950’s for the Royal Navy. They were intended to meet the threat of seabed mines laid in shallow coastal waters, rivers, ports and harbours.
