Any help identifying its precise nature is greatly appreciated.

    ~ Dimensions ~

The musket has an overall length of 98cm (39 inches) with a 60cm (23.5 inch) barrel.

    The piece weighs 2.8Kg.

    ~ Condition ~

The stock is in great order, apart from what to appears to a natural burr chips on the upper right butt and a long crack but stable crack on the left side of the butt.

It half cocks, cocks and releases with a strong spring.
