~ c1860 Coalport Loving Cup ~

A lovely Coalport porcelain loving cup dating to around 1860.

The cup is of white porcelain with two twisted form handles.

It is beautifully hand painted with a colourful flower bouquet to the front.

The reverse has been decorated with gold painted script reading ‘Charles Edward Ayling, A Present From Longton’.

The cup has gilt highlights to the handles, and gilt bands round the rim and base.

The cup is unmarked, as so many of these Coalport pieces were.

~ Dimensions ~

The cup has a diameter of 9cm (3 ½ inches) and a height of 9.5cm (3 ¾ inches).

It measures 16.5cm (6 ½ inches) across the handles and weighs 405g.

~ Condition ~

There is some wear to the gilt in parts and a couple of small scratches to the decoration. Despite this the cup presents very well and is a lovely condition in general with no damages.
