~ Circa 1937 Lineol German Radio Scout Car Clockwork Tin Plate Model ~
A superb tin plate model based on the Second World War era German Radio Scout car made in Germany.
The car has black treaded rubber tyres marked ‘LINEOL’. The model is finished in the pre-war, dark green colour. The car is clockwork and will move forward when wound up, also the gun turret will pivot to the right and back again in sequence. The front lights are electric lights but are not working. The front wheels can be manually adjusted in either direction.
The model comes with a driver who sits in the cockpit (head and shoulders). He can be removed if required to close the hatch. It also comes with a key, although the key may be a spare as it reads “Made in England”.
~ Dimensions ~
The model has a total length of 10.25 inches (26 cm) a width of 4 inches (10 cm) and a height of 5.5 inches (14 cm).
The complete set weighs 555 grams.
~ Condition ~
Some of the cog mechanisms seem a little worn, but they do engage well. The mechanism will wind-up and drive the wheels and the turret. The spring coil although in working condition doesn’t lock in place perfectly when winding up, best to take a little care when winding up. The electric lights don’t seem to light up. There is a little wear to the paint work but overall the model is in very nice condition. The figure piece is in good condition, with some general wear.
