Description

A decorated iron Main-Gauche (left hand dagger) manufactured in Toledo, Spain in the late nineteenth century. This particular type is a copy of an earlier Spanish piece from the late seventeenth century. The blade is beautifully decorated with engravings all over the guard, pommel and throat of the scabbard. This piece is excellently crafted so it looks and feels incredible. The inscriptions on the blade read “Artilleria Fabrica de Tolido” in an intricate pattern of leaves.

*Condition*

This main-gauche is in excellent condition for its age. The blade has a smooth patina and there are no dents or marks on the item. Unfortunately, most of the leather from the scabbard is missing. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
