~ Edwardian Silver Candlestick Birmingham 1908 ~
An Edwardian silver candlestick in the neo-classical design by Elkington & Co. dated 1908.
The candlestick is of baluster form with an elliptical base, shoulder and bobeche.
The bobeche is detached and simply rests on top, being held in place by the candle.
The candlestick has a weighted base with a leatherette covering.
The candlestick is hallmarked for silver, Birmingham, 1908 and has the makers mark for Elkington & Co’.
~ Dimensions ~
The candlestick measures 9cm (3 ½ inches) by 14cm (5 ½ inches) across the base and has a height of 23.5cm (9 ¼ inches).
It weighs 510g.
~ Condition ~
The base has some wear, the body has a few dents and a split along one edge but still presents well. Otherwise the piece is in quite a good condition
with no major damages or repairs.
