The German Butcher’s Bayonet Seitengewehr 98 was a standard bayonet used by German soldiers during World War I and World War II. It featured a 14-inch blade, a wooden handle, and a metal pommel. The bayonet was designed to fit the German Mauser Gewehr 98 rifle and was used for both combat and utility purposes. This blade is stamped FICHTEL & SACHS SCHWEINFURT and date ’16.
The bayonet and scabbard are in excellent condition; particularly the blade. Though the blade is likely a ‘replacement blade’. Please refer to the images as a part of our condition report.
