*German, SS Pattern, Fanfare Trumpet Banner (Fanfarentuch), Black Cloth with White Runes, Fringed*
A black cloth trumpet banner (Fanfarentuch) featuring two large white “SS-style” lightning rune devices, executed in stitched cotton appliqué. The banner is of elongated form with a pointed lower section and finished with a black twisted fringe along the edge.
The upper edge retains two integral fabric mounting loops, designed to slide onto the crossbar of a fanfare trumpet or ceremonial bugle. The proportions—narrow width with extended drop—are typical of banners intended to hang beneath instruments during parades and ceremonial display.
The runes are neatly machine-applied, with visible period-style stitching, standing in contrast against the black ground. The reverse is plain.

History Note:
Trumpet banners of this type were used in ceremonial and parade contexts, particularly within military and paramilitary music units. The double rune motif is associated with SS insignia of the Third Reich period, though similar designs have been reproduced post-war for display, theatrical, and collecting purposes.
