*German, WWII, Kriegsmarine Propeller Trade/Proficiency Sleeve Patch, Red Embroidery on White Summer Uniform Backing*
An attractive original WWII-era German Kriegsmarine embroidered specialist trade or proficiency badge, featuring the distinctive red three-bladed propeller above twin chevrons on a white oval cloth backing. This style of insignia was worn by naval personnel to denote technical trade qualifications, most commonly associated with engine room, mechanical, or propulsion-related duties aboard ship.
The red embroidered propeller strongly suggests engineering or machinery branch service, with the white backing intended for wear on lighter summer uniforms, while darker blue-backed examples were used on standard blue naval dress. The clean machine embroidery and period construction are consistent with wartime manufacture.
Approx. Measurements – Height: 9 cm. Width: 7 cm.
HIstory Note:
These Kriegsmarine specialist badges remain popular with collectors of German naval militaria, particularly well-preserved cloth insignia retaining strong colour and clear stitching. The propeller motif is one of the more recognisable naval trade emblems and displays very well.
*Condition*
Good original condition with strong red embroidery and good overall shape. Light age-related handling wear to the cloth backing with minor marks and slight age toning to the reverse. Stitching remains sound and the badge displays well. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
