~ Givejoy Toys Skybirds 1/72nd Scale Aircraft Fokker D.R.1 Triplane In Blue Made 1935-42 ~
The model was constructed from a Givejoy Toys 1/72nd scale aircraft number 11 kit, part of the Skybirds series, the kit was issued between 1935 and 1945.
The hand constructed and painted model was constructed by the original vendor as a boy (between July 1935 & January 1942).
The wooden model is extremely detailed.
The set is complete with the original instructions.
Quite an amazing example of early model making.
~ Fokker D.R.1 Triplane ~
The Fokker Dr.I Dreidecker (triplane) was a World War I fighter aircraft built by Fokker-Flugzeugwerke. The Dr.I saw widespread service in the spring of 1918. It became renowned as the aircraft in which Manfred von Richthofen gained his last 19 victories, and in which he was killed on 21 April 1918.
~ Dimensions ~
The plane has a length of 3.5 inches (9 cm), a wingspan of 4 inches (10 cm) and a height of 1.9 inches (4.75 cm). It weighs 16 g.
~ Condition ~
The plane is in excellent condition.
The instructions have some pen writing to the top of the page.
