Here we have the name board from the ill fated HMS Gipsy.

The Gipsy was a destroyer built in the 30’s that only sailed for nine years before she was mined and sunk alongside 30 of her crewmembers.

Part of the Mediterranean fleet this was an escort ship that was destroyed within its first month back in British waters and would have been rescued or salvaged after 1939.

The name board is 42 inches (107 cm) long.

The board weighs 8 Kg.

~ Condition ~

The board is in good shape for its age and considering it was most likely maritime salvage with some minor wear.
