~ Lehmann No.420 “MOTOR CAR” Tinplate Clockwork Horse-less Carriage ~
The carriage is red with a gilt-lined crimson body and black roof.
The seated driver figure is of 3 dimensional pressed steel and is in splendid livery. It typifies the early c1900 automobile vehicles which were half way between horse carriages and cars.
The front wheels can be set to run in a straight ahead or circular motion.
The carriage has the ‘MARKE’ trademark to the doors and is marked ‘ENGL PATENT, D.R.G.M, Made in Germany’ to the back. The toy was produced from 1897 to 1935.

The piece is 5.25 inches (13.25cm) long by 4 inches (10cm) high by 2.5 inches (6.5cm) wide.
~ Conditon ~
The piece is complete. There is some light wear but a particularly nice example in working order. It is free from exterior corrosion.
