Description

~ Original Set Of 4 Airfix Model 12002 Artwork 1/24 Messerschmitt BF 109E By R.L.Ward Airfix ~

Four unframed original watercolour on board used for the model artwork of an Airfix model airplane.

This particular piece was commissioned in 1989 and is of a Messerschmitt BF 109E in mid flight. It was painted by R.L.Ward in August 1989.

~ Messerschmitt BF 109E ~

The Messerschmitt BF 109E, often called Me 109 (most often by Allied pilots and aircrew), was a German World War II fighter aircraft designed by Willy Messerschmitt and Robert Lusser during the early to mid-1930s. It was one of the first truly modern fighters of the era, including such features as all-metal monocoque construction, a closed canopy, a retractable landing gear, and was powered by a liquid-cooled, inverted-V12 aero engine.

~ Dimensions ~

The boards for the bottom and top views of the plane measure 13.1 inches (33.3 cm) by 12.1 inches (30.8 cm).

The board with the left hand side view of the plane measures 11.8 inches (30.1 cm) by 4.6 inches (11.6 cm).

The board with the right hand side view of the plane measures 11.8 inches (30.2 cm) by 4.25 inches (10.8 cm).

The set weighs 355 grams.

~ Condition ~

The watercolour is in excellent condition, the board may have a bit of wear at the edges.
