This is a genuine 1st Class Iron Cross award which would have been issued to a member of the German army during World War 2 after having already received a 2nd class medal and performing 3-5 acts of bravery in the face of the enemy. It comes in its original case and features the Third Reich Swastika and the date 1939 on the front.
*Condition*
This Iron Cross is has had some wear but retains most of its paint and finish. The inside of the case is clearly worn and old. Please see picture for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
