Description

*Polish, Cold War, PM wz. 43/52 Sub-Machine Gun with Magazine, Made at H. Cegielski – Poznań (6), Dated 1953, (Polish variant of PPS 43), Deactivated, PLUS 3 Spare Magazines in Mag Pouch and Dual Oil Bottle*

7.62 Calibre, 10" Barrel Length, Serial No: AM-05187.

Serial number AM - 05187 marked on the top of the receiver and underside of the bolt handle. Dated 1954 on top of the barrel. Marked 6 on top of the barrel for manufacture at H. Cegielski – Poznań. Marked underneath PL AMW. Numerous proof marks within triangles.

The PPS,  “Pistolet-pulemyot Sudayeva” or “Sudayev’s submachine-gun, a family of Soviet submachine guns, utilized the 7.62×25mm Tokarev cartridge. It was developed by Alexei Sudayev to provide a cost-effective personal defense solution for reconnaissance units, vehicle crews, and support service personnel. Widely employed by the Red Army during World War II, the PPS and its variants were later adopted by various countries within the former Warsaw Pact, as well as numerous African and Asian allies.

After World War II, the Polish Military Arsenal was reconstructed with predominantly Soviet-derived weaponry, including the PPS-43, redesignated PM (Pistolet Maszynowy) wz. 43 under license. Production of the PM wz. 43 occurred between 1946 and 1955 across different facilities, notably H. Cegielski – Poznań, identified by 'H.C.P.' in a circle which was later replaced by '6' in a circle.

The PM wz. 43/52, a modification of the PPS-43, featured a fixed wooden buttstock replacing the folding metal stock. Inside the buttstock, a compartment housed a standard cleaning kit, while a sling loop was added to the side. This alteration aimed to enhance the PPS's accuracy, though the increased weight and size of the PPS wz. 43/52 offset minimal gains in accuracy compared to the original PPS-43.

*Accessories*

Complete with the following accessories: three spare magazines, mag pouch, cleaning rods, and oil bottle.

Polish Square Oil Dual Cell Rifle Cleaning Oiler Bottle 7.62x39. Magazine bag with 3 additional Magazines and Cleaning Tools.

*Condition*
