A rare piece of Trench Art indeed from the RFC, in fact the only one we have owned (though we also have a RFC tobacco jar), from one of the pre-cursors to the RAF.

It bears there motto 'Per ardua ad astra' under the RFC wings over a stippled background. The vase has a slightly flared lip.

The underside is stamped 1916, 18 pounder II, broad arrow as well as other numerous stamps.

The shell case is in good order.

~ Dimensions ~

The shell case is 17 cm (6.75 inches) tall and has a base diameter of 10 cm (4 inches).
