~ Set Of 3 Graduated 1890 Silver Rimmed Doulton Lamberth Leatherware Tankards ~
The tankards have been modeled as leather jack drinking vessels, made up to look like stitched panels. I have never seen a complete graduated set before.
Each tankard bears a drinking related motto.
The largest jug is inscribed “Drink Faire Don’t Sweare”.
The medium jug is inscribed “Say When”.
The smallest jug is inscribed “Here’s Luck”.
The silver rims are hallmarked for London 1890 and bear the makers stamp “CS FS” for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd who used this particular mark between 1886 and 1904.
The bases are stamped Doulton Silicon Lambeth (without the word England), this was in use from 1880 until 1891.
The largest jugs base is also stamped “1570 Rd. No. 137999 3174 ggO”.
The medium jugs base is also stamped “3173 Rd. No. 158283 Rd. No. 137999 1570 g”.
The smallest jugs base is also stamped “Rd. No. 137999 1570”.
~ Dimensions ~
The largest jug is 8 inches (20cm) tall, with a maximum body diameter of 5.25 inches (13.5cm). It weighs 1.3 Kg.
The medium jug is 7 inches (17.5cm) tall, with a maximum body diameter of 4.5 inches (11.5cm). It weighs 0.9 Kg.

~ Condition ~
The jugs are in excellent condition and are free from chips and cracks, except for the largest one which has short firing cracks on the base as an extension to the incised lines. The silver rim on the smallest jug has a couple of minor dents, the hallmarks on all 3 are a little worn through polishing.
