*USA, WW2, 1942 Dated M1 Garand Rifle Leather Scabbard by Fulton Leather Goods, with Leather Rigging for the McClellan Saddle*

This is an M1 Garand rigid leather scabbard in excellent condition, made by Fulton Leather Goods Company and dated 1942. Finding one as complete and well-preserved as this is quite rare! It features two leather fastening straps marked one and two.
These scabbards were designed to attach to horses, Jeeps, motorcycles, and other vehicles, keeping the rifle readily accessible while secured and protected. The leather fastening straps are part of the rigging for the McClellan Saddle, which was the standard saddle for the United States Army from 1858 to 1943. Its lightweight design and versatility made it ideal for cavalry use. The McClellan Saddle was paired with the M1 Garand, a .30 caliber semi-automatic rifle, which traveled in a specially designed leather scabbard fitted with long leather rigging straps.
Fulton Leather Goods Company, based at 138 West 25th Street in New York City, initially focused on luggage and leather goods for civilians. However, with the onset of World War II, they received military contracts to manufacture various items, including these Garand scabbards.

Excellent used condition. The stitching is intact, all rivets are present, and the original galvanized finish on the cocking lever guard is nearly untouched. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
