~ WW2 10×80 German Flak Binoculars With Tripod ~
A great looking, fully functional pair of Second World War German, 10 times magnification (10×80) flak binoculars mounted on an adjustable field tripod.
These binoculars were used by German anti-aircraft batteries for spotting aircraft, they have a very wide field of view and the lenses
are inclined at 45 degrees for easy viewing.
The Flakfernrohr (flak glass) binoculars are formed as two telescopes side by side and are adjustable to fit the viewers eye span
distance.
The side of the binoculars is stamped ‘D.F. 10×80 dkl “KF” 11278’.
The D.F. refers to Doppelfernrohr (double telescope Binoculars). DKL is the wartime code for the firm Josef Schneider, Kreuznach.
The binoculars are complete with their lightweight metal tripod with foot plates.
Both the binoculars and stand have been professionally polished to a high standard.
~ Dimensions ~
The main body of the binoculars is 16 inches (40.5cm) long by 18 inches (45.5cm) wide (across the handles).
The height of the binoculars on tripod as it appears in the photographs is 51 inches (130cm), though the tripod can be extended if
needed.
The set weighs approximately 13kg.
~ Condition ~
The lenses, mirrors etc are in good order and have an excellent clear view.
The main body and tripod are in a very nice condition with only light wear but no major issues.
