A Second World War era British Royal Navy White Ensign from HMS Pink.
HMS Pink was a Royal Navy Flower-class corvette. She was commissioned in 1941 and scrapped in 1947.
The flag was originally sourced from the relatives of Captain Robert Atkinson (DSC and bar, knighted) who was the captain of HMS Pink in 1942.
The flag is of typical form with Union flag to corner and cross of St George to centre.
The seam is stamped ‘Ensign WH’.
It is complete with rope and fixings.

HMS Pink was a Flower-class corvette that served in the Royal Navy.
Pink was laid down by Henry Robb at their shipyard at Leith, on 20 May 1941 and launched on 16 February 1942. She was commissioned on 2 July 1942.
HMS Pink was on an screening mission off Normandy during the Invasion of Normandy on 27 June 1944. An unidentified U-boat, possible U-988, launched a torpedo which struck HMS Pink and seriously crippling the ship. She was towed back to Portsmouth from the English Channel and was declared a total loss and scrapped at Llanelly in 1947.
