~ WW2 German Military Sports Trophy Dated 1941 Awarded to Karl Müller ~
A 1941 dated German Military sports trophy awarded to a Karl Müller.
The trophy is in the form of an athletic young man or Olympian in a loin cloth holding aloft a wreath in one hand and a sports cup trophy in the other.
He is of a silver plated metal on integrated circular base of the same.
The figure is mounted on an ebonized, turned wood base.
To the front of the base there is a plaque engraved: Karl Müller, Gerfreiten, 2./fallasch.Jg.Rgt.3, Sporttag, 15.4.1941’.
This roughly translates as Karl Müller, in the rank of Corporal, (‘2./fallasch.Jg.Rgt.3’ being his military regiment), Sports Day 15/04/1941.
~ Dimensions ~
The statue itself has a height of 24cm (9 ½ inches) and with base has an overall height of 30cm (11 ¾ inches).
It weighs 1.21 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The statue has a nice age patina, with a few small marks (scratches etc) but no serious wear or damage.
The base, again has a few marks but no actual damages.
