~ WW2 RAF Bathtub Morse Key Type 10A/7741 ~
The ‘Bathtub’ key as it was known due to its shape was the most widely used morse code key in the heavy bombers used by the RAF in WW2.
The enclosed design was because it was thought that high levels of aviation fuel could be ignited by the sparks from a normal morse key which might lead to an explosion.
The piece is made from bakelite and features a lever and two knobs.
The piece opens for easy access for maintenance.
~ Dimensions ~
The piece measures 14cm (5 ½ inches) in length.
