~ Circa 1925 Rare And Unique German Veterans Association Banner ~
Here we have something interesting and I believe a one of a kind banner belonging to a German local veterans association for veterans of the town of Rübenach. These veterans associations were made up of combat veterans of German conflicts.
The banner bears the name Kameradschaftlicher Verein Rübenach which translates literally to the Comeradely Association From Rübenach and would be the flag of their Lodge or hall.
The banner is embroidered red velvet showing a classical period soldier surrounded by the inscription Kameradschaftlicher Verein Rübenach and palm fronds, the reverse is a turquoise colour with the shaking hands of the comrades associations, the edging is gold bullion. The flag flies on an ash pole with a brass and enamel top spike with a central iron cross symbol.
~ Dimensions ~
The flag is 48 inches (122cm) square.
The flag weighs 2.4Kg.
~ Condition ~
The flag is in incredible condition for its age with little to no signs of age.
