A lovely quality signed and numbered etching on paper by the noted maritime artist William Lionel Wyllie R.A.
The piece depicts figures loading coal from barges onto a steamship near the coast with various barges and ships in the background.
It is signed in pencil by the artist to the bottom left hand corner just below the image and numbered in Roman numerals ‘CXXXVIII’ for ‘138’.
The piece has been mounted and is presented in a glazed frame.
~ Dimensions ~
The etching measures 13cm (5 inches) by 33cm (13 inches).
The frame measures 38cm (15 inches) by 58.5cm (23 inches).
It weighs 1.97 Kg.
~ Condition ~
There is some light oxidisation to the paper, mostly around the edges but this does not particularly affect the etching itself. Otherwise, it is in a great condition with no damage.
The mount and frame are in sound order.
