~ Gents Vintage Gold Plated Stainless Steel Wakmann Chronograph Wristwatch c1970’s ~
The Wakmann Chronograph is a striking embodiment of mid-century precision and style. Encased in a robust yet elegant gold-plated stainless steel case, this timepiece reflects Wakmann’s dedication to quality and innovation during an era that celebrated the advent of advanced mechanical chronographs.
This is a gold plated, two register chronograph wristwatch by the American watch company Wakmann dating to circa 1970.
The watch features a clean yet dynamic dial layout, with contrasting subdials that allow for precise timekeeping, a hallmark of chronograph design. The applied hour markers and baton-style hands add a touch of sophistication, while the tachymeter scale and pushers highlight its functionality, making it ideal for timing events or calculating speed. Powered by a reliable mechanical movement, this Wakmann chronograph is as much a tool as it is a statement piece.
The dial feature two black sub dials and a date aperture at the six o’clock position.
The dial is named ‘Wakmann’ and reads 17 Jewels, Incablocc’ and ‘Swiss Made’.
The watch has a gold plated oval case with gold tone crown and two chrono timing buttons.
The case back, which is of plain stainless steel has serial numbers reading ’14 35′ and ‘592’.

~ Dimensions ~
The dial has a diameter of 30mm.
The bezel measures 36mm (39 inc. crown).
The bracelet has an inner diameter of 19cm (7 ½ inches).
The watch weighs 83.8g.
~ Condition ~
The crystal has a few small scratches and a tiny chip at the 11 o’clock position.
The case has a little wear in parts to the finish and most of the finish to the side buttons but still presents well.
The bracelet when stretched has a link near the case which stretches out more than it should as the tiny metal fixing is out of shape
and may need replacing (a very small and easy job for a jeweller).
The bracelet is otherwise in a decent condition.
The watch is in good working order with the chronograph elements working well and has a clean undamaged dial.
