~ Boxed Dinky No. 60s Shadow-Shaded Fairey Battle Bombers Presentation Set ~
Here we have a lovely pair of pre-war era, dinky models of Fairey Battle Bombers.
The models have red tinplate propellers and Royal Air Force roundels on each wing. They have camouflage uppers and black undersides.
To the underside of each plane are the details ‘Dinky Toys, Meccano Ltd’ and to one of them is ‘Fairey Battle Bomber’.
The models come in their original box with card insert.
~ Dimensions ~
The planes have a wingspan of 3 inches (7.5cm) and are 2 ½ inches (6.25cm) from nose to tail. They weigh 12.8g and 13.4g.
The box measures 6 ½ inches (16.5cm) by 2 ¾ inches (7cm) and has a depth of ¾ of an inch (2cm). The models and box together weigh 62g.
~ Condition ~
Both models are in great condition with only minimal wear to the paint and roundels. One model has had some repair work to the nose, the propeller no longer turns and has been painted brown. The other model has a stiff wheel.
The box is in good order but has some foxing, wear to the edges, a small tear and a name etched in the top.
