A rare and unusual Second World War Nazi Germany SS beer
tankard or stein.
The tankard would have been used by SS officers in their down
time for drinking beer.
The tankard is of glass with a pewter hinged lid. The lid has a
porcelain centre.
The porcelain has enamel decoration of cornflowers which are
the national flower of Germany.
The tankard is painted with the stylised SS to the front in a
shield shaped cartouche.
*Dimensions*
The tankard has a diameter of 8cm (3 ¼ inches) and a height of 20cm (8 inches).
It weighs 1.01 Kg.
*Condition*
The SS to the front is slightly worn.
The pewter lid is not secured very well and has a tendency to
slip down the handle a little when lifted.
The porcelain top has a crack along the centre though is
otherwise in a very nice condition.
The glass is in very nice condition with no damages/chips.
