~ HMS Hood Kit Built Electric Powered Model ~
This is a very fine scale model of HMS Hood.
The hull is painted red and grey above the water line with line drawn wood decking.
The wooden decking has two fore and aft twin gun turrets and other weaponry.
There is a large central multilevel section of decking with various details including control & radio tower, chimneys & various pieces of weaponry, life boats & ships and wiring. This deck reveals the electronics inside which are connected to the four propellers; each propeller has its own engine.
HMS Hood (pennant number 51) was the last battle-cruiser built for the Royal Navy. Commissioned in 1920, she was named after the 18th-century Admiral Samuel Hood.
As one of the largest and, ostensibly, the most powerful warships in the world, Hood was the pride of the Royal Navy and, carrying immense prestige, was known as ‘The Mighty Hood’.
She was laid down on 1 September 1916, launched 22 August 1918, commissioned 15 May 1920 & was ultimately sunk during the Battle of Denmark Strait, 24 May 1941

The model is approximately 69 inches (175.2 cm) long, 8.5 inches (21.6 cm) wide and 19.5 inches (49.5 cm) tall on the base.
The models base is 21.5 inches (52.1 cm) long and 7.5 inches (19.1 cm) wide.
The model weighs 3.27 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The boat has some minor surface wear, but appears to be in a good condition with no noticeable damage to the paint or details. The electronics have been unhooked.
