~ 1944 Air Raid Precautions A.R.P. Lantern ~
A nice quality Air Raid Precautions (ARP) lamp as used in the Second World War.
The black painted metal lamp body has a button to the top, a carrying handle, belt clip and donward facing shade.
It is marked with the maker ‘LR(GB) Co’ and reads ‘A.R.P. 1944’ with the royal crown below.
The underside has a patent number and reads ‘Made In England’.
~ Dimensions ~
The lamp has a height of 11cm (4 ¼ inches) and a depth of 10cm (4 inches) which includes the shade.
It weighs 153g.
~ Condition ~
The lamp is in really nice condition, it looks as though it didn’t see much use. There’s a few little scuffs here and there and residue from a sticker to the front but is overall really clean.
It does not have a bulb and would have taken batteries now obsolete so will not be useable as a lamp.
