The Right Honourable Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill – rare Official Copy of his Death Certificate
dated 26th January 1965, issued at Kensington Register Office, handwritten and signed by
J. Hebbon the Registrar of Births and Deaths, stating that Sir Winston died on 24th January 1965
at 28 Hyde Park Gate, Kensington aged 90 years. His death was registered by Antony Montague Browne
his Secretary on 26th January 1965 and lists his occupation as statesman.
The Certificate is numbered IC648199 and was issued on the day that his death was registered.
It was one of a ‘handful’ issues and was the property of a former press reporter.

Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill, was a British Conservative politician and statesman known for his leadership of the United Kingdom during the Second World War. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest wartime leaders of the century and served as Prime Minister twice (1940–45 and 1951–55). A noted statesman and orator, Churchill was also an officer in the British Army, a historian, a writer, and an artist. He is the only British prime minister to have received the Nobel Prize in Literature, and was the first person to be made an Honorary Citizen of the United States.
