~ WW1 American Artillery Brodie Helmet ~
This is a nice brodie of an American soldier from Minnesota that has served into an artillery regiment during 1917-1918.
The helmet has been painted most probably after the war with a white star on the top, the wrongly spelled “Minnasota” above a red triangle with a blue margin and an “A (standing from artillery) and a cannon, inside; plus 1917-1918 with foliage in between the numbers.
The helmet is stamped with serial number “ZC189” and it comes with its original rope and black canvas liner.
The brown leather chinstrap is also present.
On the left hand side of the helmet can be seen a thick red painted regimental (mark) line, quite faded now.
~ Dimensions ~
The brodie is 12 ¼ inches (31 cm) by 11 ¼ inches (28.5 cm).
It weighs 1 kg.
~ Condition ~
The helmet is in excellent condition for its age.
The lining has survived almost intact. Please see the pictures.
There are the expected signs of age and usage on the skull.
