Description

*WW2, British Army, Royal Artillery Officers Slider Cap Badge, Featuring The Kings Crown*

The badge of the Royal Artillery consists of a muzzle-loading gun surmounted by a crown and scroll bearing the motto 'Ubique'. This translates as 'Everywhere' and reflects the fact that wherever the Army has served gunners have been part of the force.

The Royal Regiment of Artillery, commonly known as the Royal Artillery (RA) and informally referred to as "The Gunners," is one of the two regiments constituting the artillery branch of the British Army. It consists of thirteen Regular Army regiments, the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, and five Army Reserve regiments. Prior to World War II, prospective Royal Artillery recruits had to meet height requirements, with a minimum of 5 feet 4 inches (1.63 m) for general enlistment and 5 feet 8 inches (1.73 m) for those joining mechanized units. Enlistment terms were initially set at six years of active service and an additional six years in the reserve, or alternatively, four years of active service followed by eight years in the reserve. Training for recruits took place at the Royal Artillery Depot in Woolwich.

5cm x 6.2cm

*Condition*
