Here we have a Royal Doulton Figurine of Falstaff designed by C.J Noke.
Sir John Falstaff is a fictional character who is mentioned in four plays by William Shakespeare and appears on stage in three of them. His significance as a fully developed character in Shakespeare is primarily formed in the plays Henry IV, Part 1 and Part 2, where he is a companion to Prince Hal. He is mostly a comic relief character.
The figurine is dressed in browns and red and is standing above a pink base. Behind him appears to be a purple bench with a cream cloth.
The figurine is stamped with the markings “HAND MADE, HAND, DECORATED, MADE IN ENGLAND ROYAL DOULTON HN 3236 FALSTAFF DESIGNED BY C.J NOKE C 1914. It also has the Royal Doulton symbol.
