~ Barn Find 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Sabre Sword And Scabbard #2 ~

The piece bears no makers marks.

The Pattern 1796 light cavalry sabre is a sword that was used primarily by British light dragoons and hussars, and King's German Legion light cavalry during the Napoleonic Wars. It was adopted by the Prussians (as the 1811 pattern or "Blücher sabre") and used by Portuguese and Spanish cavalry.

~ Condition ~

Please refer to the images for the condition. It is 'Barn Find' condition.  The blade is decent apart from black patches and the edge has several nicks. The grip is decent. The guard is corroded and the scabbard has heavy pitting.

~ Dimensions ~

The sword is 100cm (39.25 inches) in length.
