*British, Highlander HAT013 Green Wool Beret Cap, Size M, Leather Band*
A modern commercial military-style beret by Highlander, model HAT013. Constructed from 100% wool with a black lined interior, this example follows the classic British “commando” style with a relatively compact crown. The beret is finished in green wool and fitted with a black leather headband.
The internal label remains in place and reads:
“100% WOOL / BERET CAP / HAT 13 / MADE IN INDIA / DRY CLEAN ONLY / SIZE M.”
It also retains its internal drawstring adjustment, allowing for minor size tuning. As with other Highlander examples, this is a commercial rather than issue beret, of the type widely sold through surplus and outdoor retailers for cadet, reenactment, costume, and general field wear.
Approximate fit corresponds to a Medium.
History Note:
Highlander berets such as the HAT013 are commercially produced items rather than military issue, but are widely used by cadet organisations, reenactors, and for general outdoor wear. Their design closely follows British Army-style beret patterns, including the leather band and drawcord system, making them a practical and affordable substitute for service examples.
*Condition*
Used condition overall, with noticeable wear from handling and storage. The wool shows fairly heavy bobbling and general surface wear, and one of the metal ventilation eyelets is missing and the backs for both are also not present. The leather band remains in place and the beret still displays well despite its wear. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
