A very attractive and original Soviet military enlisted man’s parade belt, retaining its correct brass buckle with the classic five-pointed star and central hammer and sickle emblem, complete with its original brown leather belt. This is the standard dress and parade pattern worn by Red Army and wider Soviet Armed Forces enlisted personnel during the later Cold War period, distinct from the stiffer field-service belts with painted steel buckles.
The broad brown belt is of the softer parade-style construction, featuring a smooth finished leather outer face with a textured grain pattern and natural suede reverse, rather than the synthetic kirza or canvas-backed field type. The large brass buckle is the classic rectangular Soviet enlisted pattern with raised five-pointed star and radiating rays surrounding the hammer and sickle device. The reverse retains the correct hooked fastening tongue, while the opposite end is fitted with its original stitched leather retaining tab and brass adjustment loop, making this a complete and functional example.
Unlike the matt-painted field belts intended for service wear and reduced glare, these brass-buckled belts were primarily associated with parade dress, barracks uniform, and formal presentation, giving them a much more recognisable and display-friendly appearance. This remains one of the most iconic and instantly recognisable pieces of Soviet military uniform equipment from the final decades of the USSR.
