~ HMS C27 C-Class Submarine Walking Stick ~
The walking stick is made from light coloured rings of joined together wood with a dark coloured handle. The white metal neck between the stick and the handle, has a plate that reads “Made Aboard HM Submarine C27” with the date “1915” scratched next to this.
HMS C27 was one of 38 C-class submarines built for the Royal Navy in the first decade of the 20th century. It was laid down 4 June 1908 in Vickers, Barrow, launched 22 April 1909, & commissioned 14 August 1909. It was scuttled on 5 April 1918, salvaged and eventually scrapped in August 1953.

The walking stick has a length of 32 inches (81.3 cm). It weighs 435 g.
~ Condition ~
The wood is worn on the handle, both ends have been chipped. There is some usage wear to the lower end of the stick. The plate has some scratching & tarnishing but remains largely in good condition, the words are legible.
