~Post 1926 South Africa Field Artillery Officer’s Cross Belt ~
The cross belt consists of an ammunition pouch & brown leather belt with gilt brass fittings.
A brass officers whistle is attached to a lion’s head boss by two parallel chains.
The pouch has the South Africa Field Artillery badge on the lid, the cannon between the King’s Crown and ‘Ubique’ on the top That was added post 1926 and ‘South Afrika, Suid Afrika’, underneath, changed from Zuid also in 1926.
The main badge has the Kings crown above with the South Africa Artillery Badge surrounded by a laurel wreath. Two arrows are linked to the badge by brass chains.
The reverse of the belt and the reverse of the pouch lid are stamped with the manufacturer’s trade mark and address ‘Hobson & Sons, 13&5 Lexington Street, London W’.
All the screws and screw nuts are original.

The belt has a total length of 42 inches (106.5 cm) and a depth of 2.5 inches (6.3 cm). It weighs 600 g.
~ Condition ~
The belt is in excellent condition with minor age wear on its brass component. Most of the gilding has worn away.
