~ Cased 1905 Silver, Brass & Steel Scissor Set ~

The set comprises of a pair of silver plated brass and steel scissors, its silver case and a chained pocket hook.

The case is decorated with embossed foliage on the top side and is plain on the reverse. It is hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham 1905 and has the makers mark for Henry Clifford Davis.

The hook is also hallmarked.

The case is lined with mauve velvet.

The scissors are made of steel and silver plated brass. The scissor’s ears are decorated with cherubs heads.

~ Dimensions ~

The scissors length is 5 inches (12.7 cm) and the case and hook length is 6.25 inches (15.5 cm). Each chain is 2.25 inches (6cm) long.

The set weighs 110 grams.

~ Condition ~

The set is in good condition for its age and use.

The steel blades of the scissor have some spots of surface rust and its handle lost part of the silver plate.

The case has several shallow dents to the reverse and its lining has some tears from extensive usage.
