~ Victorian Royal Engineers Black Cloth Helmet ~
The helmet, made from black cloth, has the applied brass badge of the Royal Coat of Arms to the front. A pair of rose bosses support a velvet backed chin strap. The inner lining consists of cream silk under the visors, a brown leather head band, red lining and white silk to the top.
~ Dimensions ~
The helmet is 7.5 inches (19cm) tall (without the top point) and 10 inches (25cm) tall (with the top point). It has a depth of 12 inches (30.5m), a width of 6.5 inches (16cm) & weighs 560g.
~ Condition ~
The cloth is very clean and with no real damage. The inner and outer lining are complete. The brass fittings are in good order with some scratches.
