~ 1837 Original Signed Letter From The Duke Of Wellington ~
A letter personally written and signed by the Duke of Wellington.
This really is a fascinating artefact and a wonderful piece of history.
The letter is dated March 2nd 1837, London and is simply signed ‘Wellington’.
It concerns the matter of possible corruption by a Captain Wilson, and talks of needing to get a statement from a W. Hawkes.
The letter is addressed to a Sir, but it is not clear who this recipient it.
The letter is written in a black/brown ink on a single piece of folded paper and covers 2 ½ sides.
The letter has a modern stamp reading ‘Autograph Collection of Dr. Max Thorek’ to the area under Wellingtons signature.

The letter is written on a folded piece of paper just slightly smaller than A4.
~ Condition ~
The letter has been very well looked after and is in remarkably good condition with barely any fading or foxing.
