~ 9ct Yellow Gold Winegartens Ladies Cocktail Watch c1950 ~
A pretty little ladies manual wind cocktail watch made by the London company Winegartens dating to 1950.
The watch has a stylish rectangular watch case and a slim decorative bracelet.
The watch has a square gold coloured dial with Arabic numerals, minute increments and two golden steel hands. It is named ‘Winegartens’ and also
reads ‘Swiss Made’.
The case-back is by Dennison watch case company of England, it is fully hallmarked for 9ct gold, Birmingham with a date of 1950. There are two serial numbers etched inside of ‘52961’ and ‘316511’.
The movement is named ‘Winegartens’ and reads ‘15 Jewels, 3 ADJ, Swiss Made’ and has a serial number of ‘815757’.
The bracelet has dainty pierced gold links with flower motifs to the centre of each and is fitted with a flip clasp and a fine safety chain.
The bracelet is marked for 9ct gold in several places and has a full hallmark to the clasp of 9ct gold, Birmingham, 1957 with a makers mark of ‘A.C.Co’.
